That's what I'm taking each week.
Baby steps to the finish line and I'm perfectly ok with that. My goals last week were simple - I wanted to keep my stress levels to a minimum, get in bed on time each night and get quality sleep, stay on my food plan, and not miss a cardio or workout session. I am proud to say that I met each of those goals last week and I could tell the different in my body, even before I looked at my progress pictures.
8 weeks out! |
I wore my Wonder Woman shirt AND my quads! :) |
As I head into a new week, I am feeling motivated and determined to walk away from my next show victorious. I am feeling extra motivated thanks to the man in the picture above. Let me introduce you to Jimmy of Iron Bros. He looks like a beast....and he is....but he's also a big o' teddy bear (but don't tell him I said that!). Anyway, I had the honor of watching him compete in his first powerlifting competition this past weekend and to say he killed the kilos is an understatement. I was that person in the crowd who could be heard yelling "lightweight baby" and "get it" when it was time for him to do his lifts and when he completed his 600.8 lb deadlift, I screamed when all 3 white lights lit up (white lights mean the lift was good and counts). His first powerlifting competition and he walked away with hardware. He wanted it - he trained for it - he earned it. I want the same to be said about me.

I want to be victorious.
I will train for it. I will earn it. It will be mine.

Good luck with your training! It looks like your hard work is paying off!!
ReplyDeleteI tell myself "one step at a time" during prep because, like you, I get overwhelmed very easily. You got this, lady! I love the small goals approach.
