New Release Tuesday

There were so many new songs I wanted to share this week!
That damn Itunes radio!

I settled on this one because I don't know much about Rita Ora
but I like her! Love her style and she's stupid gorgeous!

I might have a new girl crush :)

Bring on the Ramble!

I haven't done a check in video in
quite some time and thought to myself
"why not bore your readers by
rambling on and on for
almost 11 minutes???"

Ok...that's not exactly what I thought...
but I did think it was time for a video
and while I intended for it to be a
quick one, it is not.

You've been warned!!

Oh...and do you remember Where's Waldo?
Well, the name of the game for this video is
Where's Tom? :)

New Release Tuesday

I recently made the switch and now I officially own an iPhone.
(Yes, I know. It's about time!)

I am in love with iTunes radio.
I have 3 of A Kind Radio for cardio,  The Set List - Skrillex for sprints
Top 50 Hip-Hop/Rap for lifting...
the list goes on & on.

I noticed this morning that a new radio was being featured -
First Play: Neon Trees!
Ummm...yes please!!!

So far, pretty good stuff.
The song below, which I've known about for awhile,
is one of my favs!

"I said, ooh ooh
We're in danger
Sleeping with a friend"

Week At A Glance!

I'm pretty sure at this point everyone in the city of Tucson, possibly the world, knows that I'm prepping for the NPC Dennis James Classic on May 31. If you didn't know, ya do now! Bamo! (as Tom would say..lol)

I have gotten some questions about what my training looks like now that I'm getting ready for a competition and the truth is, it looks pretty much the same way it did during my "improvement season". The only real difference is I am not lifting as heavy now as I was a couple of months ago.

Friday and Saturday are typically rest days for me. But there have been weeks when I have switched my first rest day earlier in the week, say on Wednesday, and kept Saturday as the second. It really depends on what I have going on and how the body is feeling.

Tomorrow marks 7 weeks out and I know there are some diet and possible training changes up ahead. I'm still taking those baby steps towards the finish line...

New Release Tuesday

Pretty sure they wrote this song for me... ;)

And while this song isn't technically "new",
I'm in love with it and can't stop listening to it.

If you like this song, check out MKTO's song
"Thank You".
It's definitely one of those song for us so-called rebels!

Baby Steps...

Baby steps.

That's what I'm taking each week.

Baby steps to the finish line and I'm perfectly ok with that. My goals last week were simple - I wanted to keep my stress levels to a minimum, get in bed on time each night and get quality sleep, stay on my food plan, and not miss a cardio or workout session. I am proud to say that I met each of those goals last week and I could tell the different in my body, even before I looked at my progress pictures.

8 weeks out!
Last week was really about not letting the little things overwhelm me because I have to be honest, during prep, the little things can crack my armor :) Tom once made a comment about me being hyper-sensitive once I start prepping and while he was joking, there was some truth in what he said.

I wore my Wonder Woman shirt AND my quads! :)
I am a visual person so as the week was coming to an end, I decided to put my Ws on my chest and finish it strong. It might seem a little goofy but sporting one of my favorite superheros made me feel extra badass and like I could just let the little things roll off my back. Or as Jay-Z says "brush your shoulders off"... :)

As I head into a new week, I am feeling motivated and determined to walk away from my next show victorious. I am feeling extra motivated thanks to the man in the picture above. Let me introduce you to Jimmy of Iron Bros. He looks like a beast....and he is....but he's also a big o' teddy bear (but don't tell him I said that!). Anyway, I had the honor of watching him compete in his first powerlifting competition this past weekend and to say he killed the kilos is an understatement. I was that person in the crowd who could be heard yelling "lightweight baby" and "get it" when it was time for him to do his lifts and when he completed his 600.8 lb deadlift, I screamed when all 3 white lights lit up (white lights mean the lift was good and counts). His first powerlifting competition and he walked away with hardware. He wanted it - he trained for it - he earned it. I want the same to be said about me.

"Victory loves preparation"

I want to be victorious.

I will train for it. I will earn it. It will be mine.

8 weeks out.

Go Ahead...Wiggle It....

I didn't share a new release yesterday
despite intending to do so.

No worries...I got you covered...

Karmin is puttin' it down.
I love love love their new album,
especially this song!

"I wanna make your heart beat...
I love it when it beats for me...yeah..."

Go ahead...wiggle it....
twerk it...
drop it like it's hot...

You know you wanna... ;)
